Chess Ladder

Keep your chess skills sharp over the summer with National Chess Master, Greg Acholonu.
For second through eighth graders already familiar with the rules of chess. Parent volunteers are appreciated.

Repurpose discarded and recyclable items for creative and practical new uses.

Take gadgets apart to see how they work. Use your understanding of mechanics to invent something new!

Collage Art
Monday & Tuesday, June 29-30, 9:30am-11:30am
Using a variety of art materials, such as pieces of colored and hand-made papers, ribbons, newspaper clippings, photographs, other artwork, and found objects, artists will glue these to paper, canvas and 3-D surfaces to design and create collages.
Ages 4 and up.
$14/$12 CCM members.
Famous Artists
Monday & Tuesday, July 6-7and Monday & Tuesday, July 20-21
9:30 – 11:30 am.
Famous artists from different eras will be explored, including images, biographies, and quotes. Children will create their own interpretations of these paintings and drawings on canvas, drawing paper and mat board. Ages 4 and up.
$14 / $12 CCM members.
Drawing Skills
Monday & Tuesday, July 13-14, 9:30 – 11:30 am.
Artists will practice drawing skills using a variety of drawing media. Included is the discussion and application of 2-point perspective, vanishing points, horizon line, eye level line, shadows and highlights, and learning to draw from observation and imagination for creating quality artwork.
Ages 6 and up.

Kids ‘n’ Kaboodle
Sunday, June 7, 12pm-4pm
Kids ‘n’ Kaboodle is the totally free fair for all the children of Annapolis. It will take place Sunday, June 7 from 12 noon to 4 pm at the Weems-Whalen Memorial Athletic Fields. Park at Maryland Hall or Bates Middle School Or take Annapolis Transit to the Spa Road Transfer Point. Free bus passes available at CCM the week before. Planning committee meets Tuesday, May 26 at 11 am at CCM
Bubble Festival
Saturday, June 13 & 27, 10:30-12pm
Repeated July 11, 25 and August 8
Celebrate the soapy sphere with unusual bubble blowers.

Effective Discipline for Preschoolers
Thursdays, July 15, 23, 30, 7-9pm
Why do children misbehave? Parents and teachers will gain insights and new techniques to manage the behavior of two- to five-year-olds. Approved by MSDE for 3 hours of Core of Knowledge training in Child Development. Facilitated by Deborah Wood, Ph.D.
$60 / $50 CCM members, $100 per couple.
Several homeschooling parents have expressed interest in starting small groups at the museum. How about a science club? Art workshop? Most recently we were asked to help round
up kindergarten girls for a Daisy Girl Scout troop. Please call or email your
