PRESCHOOL TO SCHOOL AGE
Soccer and Lacrosse Camp Monday - Friday, July 14-18
Basic skills for new or experienced players. Ball required. Full day for ages 6 to 13 years
- $215 / $205 CCM members. Bring Lunch. Half day (soccer 9 am – noon, for ages 3 to 13), (lacrosse 12 noon – 3 pm, ages 6 – 13)

Chess Ladder
Mondays, June 9- August 11, 6:30 – 8 pm.
Weekly games and coaching by a national chess master, Greg Achelonu. For rising second graders and up who
already skilled in basic chess moves.

Sunday, June 29 or Tuesday, July 1, 2 – 5 pm.
Take the brainstorm challenge to tinker around and have some fun with gravity
boats, gravity cars, and vehicles of your own creative design.
Ages 5 to 12 years.

Take the brainstorm challenge with once-used materials to make tools,
toys, jewelry, and works of art

Project MiniMuse
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, July 7-11, 2:30 – 4:30 pm. Concert Friday at 5 pm.
Young song writers are invited to learn composition and performance skills at the
side of a professional. Singer/songwriter, LEA will lead students, ages 7 to 10,
through the steps of song writing, event production, and performance.
$50 (includes one ticket to the show for a family member).
Play It
Sunday, July 13 or Tuesday, July 15, 2 – 5 pm.
Take the brainstorm challenge to invent a toy, doll, or board game for others to play
with. Sample project ideas and materials provided.
Ages 5 to 12 years.

FAMILIES
Tri-It Fun Festival Saturday, June 14 11 am – 3 pm.
Look for CCM’s Kids ‘n’ Kaboodle stage at this city- sponsored event to promote fitness and the great outdoors. Lots of fun in store for children of all ages! Meet Gatsby the Rescue Horse, sample healthy foods, jump in the pool (suit required), and enjoy live musical entertainment. You can also learn about water sports, hiking, and other great things to do in the area this summer. Enter the park on Primrose Lane from Hilltop Lane, just a couple blocks from Chesapeake Children’s Museum.

Family Dinosaur Camp

Field trips to dig sites and museums in the greater DC area with paleontologist, Peter Kranz, Ph.D.
Ages 3 and up with adult. Use your own car.
$350 / $300 CCM members for one child and one adult.

“A Capital Idea”
Saturday
June 21, 7:00-9:30 pm at Key Auditorium at St. John’s College
An original play by Alice Yeager featuring the Peace Nouvella Players™ parallels the history of Annapolis in 1783 when the Treaty of Peace was ratified, officially ending the American Revolutionary War, and a modern day peaceful revolution in consciousness. The evening will open with a flag ceremony by the World Peace Prayer Society followed by The Science of Peace, a documentary produced by LeVar Burton (Roots, Reading Rainbow, Star Trek the Next Generation).

Summer Tea Party
Sunday, June 22, 11 am – 1 pm.
This elegant picnic will occur on picnic blankets (outdoors, weather permitting), so dress accordingly. Entertainment by
Eric the Conjurer with a Victorian Magic Show. Bring your own lunch. “Tea” provided.

Bubble Festival
Tuesday, June 24 or Saturday, June 28 10 am – 2 pm.
Celebrate the soapy sphere and explore the science of bubbleology. Use inventive bubble blowers (berry baskets, six-pack rings, etc.) and make “bubble windows.”

MiniMuse Concert
Friday, July 11, 5 - 7 pm.
A concert of original music showcasing new talent as a benefit to Chesapeake
Children’s Museum presented by LEA and bigBEE records. Bring a lawn
chair or blanket for outdoor seating. Refreshments.
