CCM is applying for a $1 million grant from Congress for building renovations to include adding a group activities space in the current storeroom. If awarded, taxpayer funds will benefit future field trips and family programs!

HELLO RADIO!
Did You Know??? The Chesapeake Children's Museum was a working radio station at one time. This window exhibit highlights the history of black radio in Annapolis from the 1960's-1970's personalities. Three QR codes are placed outside the window linked to oral histories from local radio personalities. Second part of this is exhibit is located near the radio tower, where you can learn more about how radio works.
CULTURE CARRIERS
Sharing your culture carries your experience to new places. Tell your story! Immigrants from Latin America are Culture Carriers. Inside the museum, we have created an exhibit of interest to immigrants as well as the general public about how culture is rooted in places, but also is transported to new places.
Black Waterman Experience
The seafood industry for which the Chesapeake Bay is renowned would not be what it is today without the contributions of generations of African Americans. Outside the museum our kid-friendly, handicapped accessible boat structure gives visitors the opportunity to get into the waterman character. Here you will learn more from a Black Waterman (re-enactor Kingston Creek, Jr.) who shares his story of rising from slavery to Sharecropping the Sea.
